IMPORTANT changes in schedule for week of December 14-17!

As the pandemic conditions within our community and schools continues to evolve, it may become necessary to alter the operating schedule for a classroom, a grade level, a school, or the district. These decisions will be made after evaluating Greene County COVID-19 data and consulting with the local and regional health departments.

DHS launches P-EBT Program to Provide Extra Resources for Families to Buy Food

Tennessee Department of Human Services (DHS) understands just how important the meals children receive at our school are to families. DHS also understands the unexpected hardships families may have faced this school year during the days when those meals were not available due to virtual learning.

To help families, the DHS launched the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program to provide extra resources for families to buy food. This program is about to launch Round 3 to provide benefits backdated to October 2020 and continuing through May 2021 to eligible students.

GCS will remain on an A/B Hybrid schedule through November 20th due to the continued surge of COVID-19 cases within the community.

During the week of Thanksgiving, “A” Group students will attend in-person on Monday and will be virtual on Tuesday. “B” Group students will be virtual on Monday and in-person on Tuesday. Schools will be closed Wednesday through Friday for the Thanksgiving holidays. This decision has been made after evaluating Greene County COVID-19 data and consulting with the local and regional health departments. Click link "read full story" to see calendar.

A decision will be announced on Tuesday, November 24th by 6 p.m. about the schedule for the week of November 30th through December 4th.

The health, safety, and wellbeing of our students and staff along with community conditions will continue to drive our decisions. Greeneville City Schools appreciates your continued support.
