Summer Learning Camp

Greeneville City Schools will host many summer learning opportunities for students during Summer 2022. Your child is invited to participate in these opportunities. Space is limited in the various Summer Camps. Registration will open on April 15 and will be a part of the GCS 2022-2023 returning students registration. Check your email for the link! Students MUST be registered by the deadline to participate and will be notified of their acceptance. The following camps will be available at no cost to your student:

 


  • Summer Learning Camp

 The Greeneville City Schools (GCS) Summer Learning Camp will provide four weeks of fun summer learning for students.  A limited number of students will be selected. Summer instruction is designed to fill gaps that may exist in learning, and to give students a chance at better success in the upcoming school year. Students will experience hands-on activities in reading and math as well as intervention and time for play as well.  There will also be at least one fun field trip free of charge. 
oGrades:  Current Kindergarten thru 7
th Grade Students 
o Time:  7:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. 
o Transportation:  Transportation will be provided prior to camp and after camp within Greeneville city limits. (If attending Tusculum View site, will transfer to Hal Henard if child participates in 21
st  Century Learning Program). 
o Dates:   May 31, June 1,2,3,6,7,8,9,13,14,15,16,20,21,22,23 
o Attendance:  Students who register for camp are committing to attend camp ALL 16 days.

  • Summer ACCESS 21st Century Learning Program

Kindergarten - 4th Grade Students- The 21st Century Learning Program at Hal Henard School will consist of recreational and light academic enrichment. Each week will consist of a different theme. This year’s theme will be the continents of the world.  While the students learn new information about the continents, the goal is for students to participate in a variety of hands-on and recreational activities that will make the learning theme fun and engaging! Field trips will be planned to enhance the learning experiences. (A limited number of students will be accepted.  Once space is no longer available, students will be placed on a waiting list and will be contacted by the Site Director if a space becomes available). 

 

5th-7th Grade Students-The 21st Century Summer Program for STEAM exploration, fun, and learning. Our summer program combines enrichment learning with hands-on opportunities to ensure students receive the opportunity to make the most of their summer. Students and teachers will spend the days learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Math and participate in fun activities, experiments, or demonstrations that reinforce that learning.

o Time:  1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. 
o Transportation:  Transportation will be provided prior to camp and after camp within Greeneville city limits.

o Attendance:  Students who register are committing to attend ALL 16 days.

  • STREAM Mini Camp

The STREAM Mini Camp will provide remediation and engagement through programming in which students participate in real-world experiences and problem-solving across several content areas of Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math. The camp will include hands-on learning, building, virtual field trips, exploration, projects, group work, designing, problem solving, and bringing learning outdoors. 

o Grades:  Current Kindergarten thru 4th Grade Students 
o Time:  4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. 
o Transportation:  No bus transportation  
oDates:  May 31, June 1,2,3,6,7,8,9,13,14,15,16,20,21,22,23 
o Attendance:  Students who register are committing to attend ALL 16 days. 
o Location:  Hal Henard School (Highland, Hal Henard, Tusculum View students)
